Dance like David
Since I was a child, older music has been one of my favorite types of music. My mom always tells me I should have been born in another decade. That may be true, but I think too much about it. I think it's sort of cliche.
Anyway, even now I am dancing to Earth Wind and Fire. I kind of wish I had been there, at the dances and whatnot, dancing an clapping and wearing who knows what. Having the best time of my life.
Before that I was listening to Smokey robinson and The Miracles. I love the way they talk about love and all that, but minus the depressing tones of emo love songs. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but to me, it's too good of a beat to notice. I hate to be a hater on emo, but I can only take so much of it.
So I'm assuming today, while in my internet product tools class, I will be singing to myself and 'grooving' in my chair. Passing the time in my mind with sound and vibration. And hopefully still consuming the information drilled into my head. Platform tools, yeah. Technology.
Oldies music basically reminds me that before a lot of the tech we had, we still had brilliant beats and talent-untangeable. If ever we are stripped of that tech, there will still be music.
I thank God for that.
I will dance like David.
"you could have told me yourself, that you loved someone else...instead I heard it through the grapevine."
Marvin Gaye. Sing it please.
